U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has, like his counterpart Colin Powell 20 years ago, announced a determination of genocide in Darfur. Blinken said the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) committed war crimes in Sudan, including crimes against humanity, murder, rape and other forms of sexual violence, deportation or forcible transfer, and persecution, and are responsible for ethnic cleansing in Darfur.

Negotiations in Jeddah for a ceasefire between the SAF and RSF have ended in a deadlock, and suspended for an indefinite period. Reliable sources told Radio Dabanga that the latest talks, brokered by Saudi Arabia, the U.S, the African Union, and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, have reached a stalemate, and that both delegations are returning to Sudan to consult with their leaders.

Radio Dabanga reports that the RSF has announced that that it had taken control of the database centre of Sudatel (Sudan Telecommunications Group).

So far, over 540,000 refugees fled from Sudan into Chad, according to the International Organisation for Migration. Many have left West Darfur, where mass massacres and racially motivated violence flared up again in October 2023 in the state capital, el-Geneina, forcing hundreds more people to flee.
